I have been toying with the idea of setting up a remote TFI under the hood of the race car. The design of the TFI that is on the 86-93 Foxbody Mustang is one that is a thorn for many. The design was so problematic that Ford got sued over it. You can find multiple articles like this one from Car and Driver and this one from The Center for Auto Safety
So as you can see, the design is prone to failure due to high heat and being close to the engine.

Ford changed the design on many cars post 1994. One of the first cars to get the design change was the SN95 Mustang.
As you can see in the pic above with the F4 part number, this distributor does not have the TFI module on it.
Thanks to a local friend who is also a Foxbody Mustang aficionado we were able to pick this up for $40 and we’ll make a custom wiring harness to go from it to the TFI to the distributor. Next on the list is a remote TFI mount.
