Suspension Install and Mock Up

She’s up on jack stands and it seems like the laundry list of things keeps growing.  That’s always something to expect with a project on this scale.  Like for instance, the brake booster has started to fail and in this process I’ll be adding an SVO master cylinder, replacing some brake lines, gutting an older style 5 port proportioning valve and installing a Kelsey Hayes adjustable valve for the rear brakes.  In all that process I’ll need to replace the booster.  I like to call that “While I’m at it syndrome.”  That thought of “well… while I’m at it, I might as well….”  It ends up lightening the wallet every time.  But it’s fun and that’s why we car nuts do this.  If you’re reading this then you’re well aware of what I’m talking about.

It currently has Tokico shocks and struts.  They’ll stay on the car until the final assembly.  I have purchased a set of Koni shocks, struts, and “quad” shocks to be the final setup.  They are the same thing that Saleen used on their vehicles from about 1986 to about 1988.

Yes, those are blue brake drums.  How about that for a special touch by a previous owner. You won’t find that just anywhere and no longer on this vehicle after this week.
Here’s a toast to no broken bolts or skinned knuckles.  Which we all know wil happen sometime somewhere.
